Privacy Policy

This policy covers two things: the MaliceTV app and this website (malicetv.com). It is operated by HaagLabs (haagonthis), an individual developer based in the United States. Contact: haagonthis@gmail.com.

The app: what it collects

The MaliceTV app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no advertising or analytics SDKs. We cannot see what you watch, play, cook or listen to. There are only these small, specific exceptions:

• The 7-day Pro trial. The first time the app starts, it sends this device's app-specific Android ID to our license server (on Cloudflare) once, so the server can record when your trial began and stop it from restarting if the app is reinstalled. Nothing else is sent: no name, no email, no viewing data.
• Redeeming a Pro license key (bought on our website) sends the key and the same device ID, to check the key and limit how many devices use it.
• Cloud sync (optional, Pro). Only if you link devices with a sync code, the app sends that profile's My List, list categories, Continue Watching progress and "watched" marks to our sync server on Cloudflare, stored under a random sync ID that is not linked to your name, email or Google account. It is used only to copy that data to your other linked devices. Tap Stop syncing here in Settings to unlink a device. Sync data nobody has used for a year is deleted automatically, and you can email us to delete it sooner.

The app: what stays on your device

The app saves the following locally, in Android's private app storage, and never sends it to us (apart from what you choose to sync, above):

• API keys you enter (for example TMDB, or a debrid service such as TorBox)
• Add-on and source lists you import
• Profiles, watchlist, continue-watching progress and app settings
• Saved recipes, grocery list and fridge items
• Game save data, per-game settings, and any games or music you cache for offline use
• Your Pro purchase status (see "Purchases" below)

Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Purchases (MaliceTV Pro)

MaliceTV Pro is a one-time in-app purchase sold and processed entirely by Google Play. Payment and billing information is handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy — we never see or store your card or payment details. We only receive a signal from Google confirming whether the purchase is owned, which the app uses to unlock Pro features. Refunds are handled through Google Play (see our Refund Policy).

Services the app connects to

The app makes requests directly from your device to the services below. We do not proxy, log or intercept them. Each has its own privacy policy and will receive your IP address, as with any internet request:

• TMDB — film and TV artwork, titles and descriptions, using a key you provide.
• TheMealDB — recipe data and images for the Food section.
• Radio-Browser — the free internet-radio station directory.
• Cloudflare — hosting for our own games and music catalogs, and this website.
• Google Play Billing — for the Pro purchase, as described above.
• Our own servers on Cloudflare — the license/trial check and, if you turn it on, cloud sync, as described above.
• Any add-ons, source lists or debrid services you choose to add. These are supplied by you, are not affiliated with MaliceTV, and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Our own content

MaliceTV includes original content we made: games (such as The Pirate Voyage) and original music. These are hosted by us on Cloudflare and load over an ordinary web request. Playing them sends no information about you beyond fetching the file.

Neutral platform — you supply the content

Apart from our own content above, the app ships empty: it includes no film or TV catalog, no channels and no media sources. Any add-on, source list or debrid service is added by you, at your discretion. What you choose to connect is your responsibility and subject to the laws where you live.

Local network setup page

To save typing long links on a TV remote, the app can start a small web page on your local network so you can paste text or upload a file from a phone or computer. It runs only while that screen is open, is reachable only from your own network, requires a random PIN shown on your TV, and sends nothing to the internet.

This website

This website sets no cookies of its own that track you. A few things use optional third parties, and each is worth calling out:

• Bug-report form. If you submit the "Report a bug" form, we receive what you type — an optional name, an optional email, your device, and your message — so we can respond and fix the issue. We use it only for that purpose. Don't include sensitive information.
• Advertising pixels (with your consent). If you click Accept in the cookie banner, we load the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and the TikTok Pixel. These measure how our ads perform and let us reach similar audiences; they record activity such as page views and share it with Meta and TikTok, who process it under their own privacy policies. If you decline or ignore the banner, neither pixel loads and no such data is sent. You can change your choice any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for details.
• Embedded live player. The home page can embed a live stream from Kick. Kick is a third party that may set its own cookies. To respect your choice, this embed does not load until you accept it in the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and delivery, as is normal for any website.

Children

MaliceTV is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). Kids profiles are a parental-control feature: they let a parent limit what a child sees on a shared device (by age rating, behind a parental PIN). They collect nothing about the child, and the PIN is stored only on the device, never sent to us.

Deleting your MaliceTV data

MaliceTV (by malicelabs) keeps only two kinds of data on its servers, and you can have both deleted:

• Synced lists (cloud sync). In the app, open Settings › Cloud sync and tap Stop syncing here on each device. Synced data nobody uses for a year is deleted automatically. To have it deleted straight away, email us (below) and include a sync code from Settings › Cloud sync › Show code, so we can find your data.
• Trial / license record (the app-specific device ID, your trial dates and any Pro key you redeemed). Email us and we'll delete it. If it's deleted, the free trial can't be used again on that device.

Email haagonthis@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data". We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Nothing else about you is kept on our servers, so there is nothing else to delete.

Your rights

Because the app collects no personal data (only the app-specific device ID and, if you turn it on, the synced lists described above) and the website collects only what you voluntarily send us via the bug form, there is little to access or delete. To have your trial record or synced data deleted, email us. If you emailed us or used the bug form and want your message deleted, contact haagonthis@gmail.com and we'll remove it. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have rights to access or delete personal information; email us to exercise them.

Permissions

The app requests internet access, network state, storage access for your own media and downloads, and notification permission so downloads can show progress. None of these are used to gather information about you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
