If you've been hunting for an all-in-one media app for your TV, you've probably tried Stremio and Kodi. Both are powerful, but both ask you to stitch together add-ons, wrestle with setups, and hop between separate apps for games, music and everything else. MaliceTV was built to be the calm, one-app version of that idea — for a cheap Android TV box, and now your phone and tablet too.

Set up your own media server in 10 minutes

You don't need a subscription or a rack of gear to stream your own movies, shows and music around the house. If the files already live on your Windows PC, MaliceTV can play them on any TV in the home over your own network — no monthly fee and nothing uploaded to anyone. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.

What you'll need

A Windows 10 or 11 PC with your media on it, an Android TV box (or a phone or tablet) with MaliceTV installed, and both on the same home Wi-Fi or network. That's it. The desktop helper is free.

Step 1 — Install MaliceTV Desktop on your PC (~2 min)

On your computer, grab MaliceTV Desktop from the setup page and run it — it's next-next-finish, no administrator needed. Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" notice because the app comes from an independent developer rather than a big publisher; click More info then Run anyway. It's a tiny app that just serves the folders you choose.

Step 2 — Point it at your folders (~3 min)

When it opens, click Add folder and pick the folders that hold your Movies, Shows and Music — add as many as you like. MaliceTV Desktop scans them and builds a tidy library with artwork. Leave the app running (it happily sits in the background) and note the pairing PIN it shows you.

Step 3 — Open it on your TV (~2 min)

On MaliceTV, open the PC tab. It finds your computer automatically on the network — pick it and enter the PIN once to pair. From then on your rows of movies, shows and music appear right there on the big screen, ready to play with the remote.

Step 4 — Press play

Browse your own library the same way you'd browse a streaming app — hero, rows, artwork and all — and start anything with a click. It streams straight from your PC over your home network, so quality is only limited by your own files and Wi-Fi. When you're done, you can leave the desktop app running for next time or close it.

Why do it this way

It's your library on your hardware: no subscription, no account, and nothing handed to a third party. MaliceTV Desktop only serves the exact folders you add, and nothing ever leaves your home network. Want to bring your PC games to the couch too? The same app can send your game collection to the TV's Games section or stream your whole desktop.
